Pulled chicken burgers

Pulled chicken instructions for those who only have an oven and no smoker.

Ingredients for 4 burgers:

  • For the meat:
  • 4 organic chicken legs
  • 1 tbsp Aggro Chicken BBQ seasoning
  • 50ml white wine vinegar
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • olive oil
  • For the burgers:
  • 1/2 red cabbage
  • A sip of white wine vinegar
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp chili crunch
  • 4 buns from your trusted baker
  • Sour pickles

And so it goes:

  • Mix white wine vinegar with honey and a tablespoon of Aggro Chicken BBQ seasoning and fold in the olive oil.
  • Now marinate the chicken legs in the solution. Let it sit in the fridge for a few hours, preferably overnight. After this time, let the whole thing stand at room temperature for twenty minutes.
  • Put the meat in the oven preheated to 100°C for 2 hours.
  • Take the meat out of the oven and let it rest. Set the oven to maximum heat. Pour the liquid and set aside. Put the meat in the hot oven for 10 minutes to give it a crust.
  • Tear the finished meat with your fingers or a fork. Thoroughly mix the flavorful outer crust with the juicy interior.
  • Mix the roasting liquid with the meat.
  • Massage vinegar, sugar and salt into the shredded red cabbage.
  • Cut the buns open, pile the meat on the bottom half and cover with the marinated red cabbage and onion. Then top with chili crunch, close the bun and serve with pickled gherkins (tip: a ripe mango is also ideal).
